Childcare facility offers scholarship

A local family has won a one-year scholarship from New Adventures Early Learning and Child Development Center for the newest addition to their family.

After eight years of trying to start a family, the Archibalds finally got their "miracle baby," as well as child care assistance. New Adventures Early Learning and Child Development Center, on Route 91 in Twinsburg, and owner Thomas Lane sponsored the scholarship giveaway. To win, contestants were asked to write a 300-word essay with the theme, "My Family, My Story." As a Twinsburg native and child of a single parent home, Lane said he wanted to give a deserving family this opportunity.

Kevin and Elizabeth Archibald entered the contest with an especially touching story, telling of their perils without medical assistance, and how they gave up hope of having a child for several years. In February 2008, their situation had changed enough to see a pregnancy specialist. After six months of trying, the couple was able to conceive a child. New Adventures is proud to add Haley Nicole Archibald to its childcare family. For more information, visit www.newadventuresdaycare.com.
