-- RICHARD J. BAMLER -- Retired from Ford Motor Co. Richard J. Bamler, 97, died Dec. 19, 2009, after a short illness. He was born in Vohenstrauss, Germany, to Anna and Wilhelm Bamler, the first of three children. He trained as a tool and die maker and in 1938 he married his first wife, Wilhelmine. Richard moved his family to Canada in 1953, and to Twinsburg in 1955. He retired from the Ford Motor Co. in Walton Hills in 1976. During his retirement years he enjoyed reading, gardening and tinkering with all things mechanical. Upon Wilhelmine's death in 1970, he married Gertrud, who died in 2006. His sister Pauline and brother Wilhelm also preceded him in death. To celebrate his life, Richard leaves behind his son William K. (Pat); granddaughter Melissa; grandson Rick (Heidi); and many nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Arik, Kaitlynn and William A. spent precious moments with their Opa. Services were Dec. 23 at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home in Twinsburg. Burial was at Locust Grove Cemetery. Comments
