Janice M. Chojnacki, 59, of Macedonia and a former resident of Hudson since 1978, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at her home. She was born Dec. 4, 1950, in Bedford, the daughter of Henry and Mary Waugh.
Janice grew up in Twinsburg and worked as operations manager for Ecology Roof Systems in Northfield. She was a 1971 graduate of Bowling Green State University and was very active in the Hudson Girls Softball Association.
She belonged to the First Congregational Church of Hudson. Mrs. Chojnacki was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Waugh; sister Barbara Altiere; and brother-in-law James Altiere.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel M. Chojnacki; daughters Megan (Chad) Berry of Indianapolis, Ind., Sara Chojnacki of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Lauren Chojnacki of Redondo Beach, Calif. and Erin Chojnacki of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Judith (Charles) Gniewkowski of Toledo and Linda (Joseph) Bowen of Northfield; and grandchild Madison Berry.
Arrangements were handled by Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, 19 East Main Street in Hudson. Funeral services were at First Congregational Church of Hudson at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, the Rev. Sue Ann Schmid officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333.
