With the post season nearing, Twinsburg's swimming teams continued to work on their marks as the Tigers shined Jan. 22 against Akron Hoban at the Twinsburg Fitness Center.
The Lady Tigers won 134-49 over Hoban while Twinsburg's partial boys team fell 102-57 to the Knights.
For the boys, the 200-yard medley relay won with a time of 1:58.08. This cast included senior Joe Heidenreich, freshman Anthony Gasper, senior Shawn Tippen and freshman Phil Renzi.
Heidenreich also touched first in the 200 free (2:00.27) and in the 50 free (24.44). Tippen was the victor in the 100 free (53.04) and in the 200 individual medley with a clocking of 2:09.50.
Freshman Cory Weddington captured the 100 breast stroke (1:08.81).
In girls action, junior Amanda Knapp shined as she posted wins in the 200 individual medley (2:15.97), 100 butterfly (100.96), the 200 medley relay (2:00.29), and in the 400 freestyle relay (3:53.24).
Making up the 200 medley and 400 free relays were junior Maria Eidam, senior Amanda Marlow and sophomore Amanda Vargo.
Eidam had victories in the 50 free (26.06) and in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:31.03. Sophomore Taylor Ulisse won in the 200 free (2:07.89) and the 100 breast stroke (1:17.73). Vargo won the 100 free (59.12).
Twinsburg's 200 freestyle relay won (1:51.28) with freshman Rachel Czerny, sophomore Lexi Ristaino, freshman Samantha Stauffer and freshman Gina Williamson. Junior Ashleigh Weddington won the diving competition with a score of 179.62.
Janice Clanton's team hosted Senior Night Jan. 27 against Kenston, but final results were not available as of this writing.
Other seniors in the program included Samantha Handel and Kelly Doran. The Tigers compete Jan. 29 at home against Willoughby South.
