Worship at Our Redeemer with carols

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Solon invites the community to attend their upcoming JUMP (Just Music and Praise) worship service. The service will take place Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. This service will feature many familiar Christian Christmas carols. The dress is casual and refreshments will be served. The church is located at 7196 SOM Center Road. Additional singers are needed for the praise band. Practices are every Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. JUMP Services are conducted the third Sunday of each month at 7 p.m. Adult and youth singers from all denominations are welcome for this volunteer position. Advent service
is Dec. 19

Advent services will be at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 19 at Our Redeemer. The theme of these services will be "The Blessed Anticipation of the Return of Christ." The Revs. Powell Woods and Matthew Garred will alternate preaching. A potluck "soup supper" will precede the worship service at 6:30 p.m. The church will provide soup and sandwiches and each family that attends is asked to bring an appetizer or dessert to share. These casual dinners take place in the church fellowship hall. Visitors to the worship service are also invited to join the soup supper.

Carol for seniors

The members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Solon will sing Christmas carols in the community on the evening of Dec. 16 from 5 until 7 p.m. Senior citizens that live near the Solon/Twinsburg border who would like to have volunteer singers come sing a few carols in their doorway can contact the church office at 440-248-4066. This is a free service. The church will accommodate as many requests as possible.

Lakeview hosts
Dec. 16 service

The worship service on Dec. 16 will start at 10:45 a.m. The message will be titled "Joy Robbers Exposed." God wants people to live with joy everyday and yet something always seems to take the wind out of people's sails. When the source of that issue is exposed, joy can be the reality. Join to find out the three things that often bring people down. Nursery and children's church will be available during service for infants through fifth graders. Classes for ages 3 through adult begin at 9:30 a.m. Feel free to contact the church at 330-562-3438.

On Dec. 23, the service will begin at 10:45 a.m. with a Christmas message. Love is not just a feeling people have when they see "Mr. or Miss Right." It is also not something beyond people's grasp. "Love" is a person. Come find out who this person is that was born on a holiday people love. Nursery and children's church will be available during service. On Dec. 24 will be the Family Candlelight Service. Enjoy Christmas Eve with family and friends. Service begins at 6:30 p.m.

Women's worship group to meet at library

The ladies of Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church of Twinsburg invite women 18 and older to join them at their monthly Women's Workshop meetings. The group will discuss Elizabeth George's book "A Woman After God's Own Heart." The next study meets Dec. 13 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Twinsburg Public Library. Rejoice Lutheran offers Christmas Eve service

Rejoice Lutheran Church will celebrate a special Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Hudson American Legion Hall, 5790 Hudson Drive. The Christmas Eve celebration will include Christmas carols, candles and Holy Communion. All are welcome to attend.

Join on Sunday mornings for regular worship at Ellsworth Hill Elementary School at the corner of Stow and Middleton roads in Hudson. A formal liturgy service begins at 8:15 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. there will be a celebration service. For additional information, visit www.rejoicelc.org.

Celebrate 25 years at the Sanctuary of Praise

The 25th Anniversary Committee will conduct its Barbeque Ribs and Chicken Dinner Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church on Dec. 15. Dinners include ribs and chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, green beans, corn muffin, cake and soda. Cost is $10.

On Dec. 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Joseph's Kitchen will host a free community meal. On Dec. 22 from noon to 1 p.m. Joseph's Kitchen will conduct its free food distribution and on Dec. 23 at 6 p.m. will be the Christmas program and play, "Grace" and "Operation Bless A Family." The Sanctuary church family will randomly choose a family from outside the congregation to bless with food, money and gifts.
