Kent State names fall 2007 graduates
Kent State University recently conferred degrees to fall graduates during commencement exercises Dec. 15, 2007, in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on the Kent campus.
The university awarded 240 associate degrees, 989 bachelor's degrees and 335 graduate degrees to students.
Local students who graduated included:
Margaret Gary, Shaleeka Jones, James Harris, Kelly Jernigan, John Lively, Andrea Zajc, Stefan Gockowski, Thomas Kosuda, Russell Mazzola and Noah Goodman.
Kubish graduates
from Wright State
Wright State University, near Dayton, conferred 1,373 degrees during fall commencement ceremonies on Nov. 17, 2007, in WSU's Ervin J. Nutter Center. Among those graduating was Robert J. Kubish of Twinsburg.
Bissell enters honor society at Ashland
Ashley Bissell of Ravenna Road in Twinsburg was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta at Ashland University. She is the daughter of Richard and Terri Bissell.
Alpha Lambda Delta is a freshman honorary society open to full-time freshman students who earn a scholastic average of 3.5 or higher at a four-year college or university.
Alpha Lambda Delta emphasizes that educated persons have a responsibility to "have tolerance in dealing with all persons, generosity in giving to those in need and insight into the feelings of others." Members are challenged to make a "meaningful contribution to society" and, through their chapters, engage in community service projects, as well as campus service activities.
Open house planned
for new college courses
Bryant & Stratton College is offering a new career program, legal nurse consulting. Classes will begin April 19 and run one weekend per month for 10 months.
Bryant & Stratton has three campuses in the Cleveland area.
Two open houses are scheduled. The first will take place at the Parma campus on April 20.
The second will take place on April 26 at the Willoughby Hills campus.
