Take a tour
of Tinkers Creek watershed
The Tinkers Creek Chapter of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy will conduct its annual tour of the Tinkers Creek watershed on May 10.
The Western Reserve Land Conservancy serves 14 counties in Northeast Ohio, and hopes to attract people from this area to go on the tour. The public is invited to see Tinkers Creek from its Streetsboro beginning to its finish in Valley View, where it joins the Cuyahoga River.
Participants will meet in the parking lot of Dodge Intermediate School, at 10225 Ravenna Road, at 9 a.m. and travel by van most of the day. They will visit Herrick Fen in Streetsboro in the Tinkers Creek Nature Preserve as well as travel to the great falls of the creek and the Tinkers Creek gorge in Bedford. Finally, participants will stop near where the creek empties into the Cuyahoga River, and discover how the Ohio Canal is constructed to cross the creek.
There is a charge of $15 for Western Reserve Conservancy members and $18 for non-members to cover the cost of renting the van. The group will stop somewhere for lunch. Space is limited so contact Marion Olson to reserve a seat at 330-425-4159.
