Police News: 'Play-fighting' turns real on school property

Twinsburg -- A Ravenna Road woman reported on April 20 that her 14-year-old son was involved in a fist fight outside of Bissell Elementary School around 10:30 p.m. on April 19. Police said her son and a boy were "play-fighting," when another boy mistook it as a real fight, tried to break it up and a real fight ensued.

Her son ended up with a black eye, and she took him to the hospital. An officer met with all three juveniles and filed a police report. No charges were filed.

Theft

April 24: Stolen money -- A Gettysburg Drive woman reported that someone entered her vehicle April 23 at night while it was parked in her driveway and stole $950 from the glove box. The case is closed.

Damage to property

April 22: Broken windshield -- An Aurora woman reported finding her vehicle's windshield smashed after she parked it at an Aurora Road restaurant after 2 a.m.

There were no witnesses or suspects, police said. The cost for broken windshield was unspecified. The case is closed.

Child endangering

April 22: Home alone -- A child services worker reported two 11-year-old boys, a 12-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were left at their Ray Court apartment for seven days without adult supervision. The children were turned over to a child services worker.

Drug possession

April 22: Driving with suspected drugs -- After a 21-year-old Macedonia man was stopped for speeding on Chamberlin Road, police said they smelled marijuana coming from his vehicle. He was charged with speeding and possession of drugs and summoned to Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court.
