Zellners excel
at Ashland

Saundra Zellner, of Twinsburg Township, is a member of the Social Work Club at Ashland University. She is the daughter of Larnie and Carla Zellner and is majoring in social work. The club's purpose is to provide students with programs and experiences as an added dimension to the classroom. Programs include Skip-a-Meal Today for United Way, an annual party for graduating seniors, attending the Ohio Conference of Social Work Educators, field trips and an ethnic potluck dinner.

Her sister, Sherri Zellner, is a sprinter at Ashland University. She also is the daughter of Larnie and Carla Zellner and is a biology major.

The women's team began the season April 1 with a fourth-place finish at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitation in Cincinnati. The team will travel to The Ohio State University campus April 7 and 8 to compete in the All-Ohio Championships. More information is available at www.ashland.edu/athletics.

Student admitted
to UT pharmacy school

Abigail Rabatin, A Twinsburg resident, has received contingent admission to the University of Toledo's College of Pharmacy.

Rabatin was one of 30 students selected for contingent admission to the college, a pool that included students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher in high school, a 29 or higher on the ACT and a 1,280 or higher on the SAT tests.

Xavier's Edwards recognized

Amanda Edwards of Twinsburg, a junior Spanish/information systems major at Xavier University in Cincinnati, was recognized during Xavier's All Honors Day celebration on April 12.

She received the Downing Teacher Scholar Mentor Program award.

This scholarship program matches students, faculty and community business leaders for pursuit of a scholarly project within the faculty member's expertise.

Tennis time
for Romito at Ashland

Paige Romito, of Twinsburg, is a member of Club Tennis at Ashland University.

She is the daughter of Karen and Andrew Romito and is majoring in intervention specialist, mild to moderate education.

Club sports provide students with opportunities for recreation and physical activity in a wide variety of sports.

Competitive clubs contend with sport clubs from other towns or universities, traveling to different events throughout the year.
