Twinsburg resident serving in IraqJanuary 30, 2007
My name is Ssg Jeffrey Simon. Myself and my family currently reside in Twinsburg. Back in Jun of 06 myself and other members of the 256th CSH out of Brooklyn, OH were cross leveled into the 399th CSH out of Boston Mass. After 3.5 months of training in Ft Mc Coy WIS we were shipped out to Mosul, Iraq to run an Army Hospital on a small military post sourounded by the second largest city in Iraq. A week after arriving in Mosul myself and another soldier Sgt Michael Skoczen from Brunswick, Oh Decided to try and get into the best shape of our lives by working out and eating right. We thought of a way to track our progress for ourselves and our friends and family would be to create a web site. www.iraqimuscle.com was formed. We started by posting our photos on the web the first week we arrived. Therafter every month we add ur new photos to see how we have progresses. We now have 18 people on the web who are also members and are tracking their progress along with us. In the process of putting together the web we came accross Soldiers Angels Foundation. This foundation gives generously to soldiers deployed all over the world. We came up with a way to help give back to those who give so much to us. We designed t-shirts and hats to sell on the web site and to our fellow soldiers serving with us. As we receive proceeds from the sale of the hats and shirts we donate them back to the S.A foundation. We will continue in this endeaver through our deployment in Iraq. Check out the web site, let us lnow what you think either through the blog page or through our guest book. I want to also thank the city of Twinsburg for the support that they have shown to myself and my family during these hard times while I am away.
