Happenings at Pferd Stables at Sahbra Farms in Streetsboro, OH

We are a full care boarding, breeding, training, teaching and sales farm. We specialize in Dressage and Hunter/Jumper training. We stand two Holsteiner Stallions, the 1989 Ravel (Rantares/Zimara/Marmor) and 2002 Rachmaninov (Riverman/Gabriela/Franat). Along with an ever developing mare band including some of the best American and European stock.

Owner/Head Trainer, Marlynna Pellegrini has a BA degree from LEC as an Equine Science Major with a focus on Stud Farm Management and Dressage Theories. Her husband Frank Pellegrini D.V.M. is a large animal Veterinarian whose focus the past 5 years on Equine Colonic Ulcers, Succeed DCP, and most recently his newly patented Succeed (R)Equine Fecal Occult Blood Test (which is being launched in September 2007). The respective web sites to visit are: www.succeeddcp.com and www.succeedfbt.net

We have been growing exponentially in our breeding business the past three years, in fact doubling the amount of breedings and foaling yearly. It is our hope to expand our breeding business and slowly grow with quality warmblood stock. We are expected to foal out 10 mares in 2008, which is almost double the 6 we foaled out in 2007. We have not started to advertise our mare care and would like to begin to offer our services to the public at a more aggressive rate for 2008. Our success in the breeding shed seems to be the joy of our 6 years at Pferd Stables.

Some of our 2007 successes and plans:

Rachmaninov qualified for the Cosequin Year End Finals for 5 y/o and Up Stallions in Hand and will be competing for our Region in Wisconsin in September of 2007.

We hosted the 2007 AWS Approvals and 3 of the 17 horses presented were products of Pferd Stables. Rock's Anne (Rachmaninov x Sock's R' Rockin) received a score of 80%, which is in the top 1% in the Nation earning her a Gold Medal as a weanling and putting her in contention for National Year End High Score. 2nd to her was Ravel earning a Silver medal with 79.8% and Earning him one of his Stars and nominated him as a contender for National Year End High Score Stallion. And bronze medaling was Rakkamar (Rachmaninov x Delaney) with a score of 79.7% earning him Blue Preferred Status.

We are Co-hosting for the 2nd year in a row the American Holsteiner Horse Association Approvals at Valhalla Farm in Grafton, OH on Sept. 9th where we are bringing 8 of our horses to be nominated, bonneted and/or inspected by the German Holsteiner Verband. The judges will be inspecting a total of 17 horses, which is over double what we inspected in 2006. For more info on this go to www.valhallafarminc.com

And our final event for the year is the last leg of Ravel's nomination into the AHHA Stallion book where he will be doing his final Stallion testing in Millbrook, NY on October 9th 2007. If he qualifies he will hold a lifetime breeding permit with the American Holsteiner Horse Association.
