To the editor:

I live in Twinsburg and I am raising awareness for multiple sclerosis. None of us choose to live with MS. But we do choose to fight it. I am asking that you join me in the fight against MS, now during Awareness Month, and throughout the year to make sure the voices of everyone connected to MS are being heard.

Our bodies are in constant motion - moving information from the brain to the body. But MS stops people from moving by attacking the myelin that protects normal nerve tissue. This damage keeps people from moving smoothly, both inside and out. Many have trouble imagining what their lives would be without the ability to move, but I know the effects of MS; my sister has MS.

If you have multiple sclerosis, if you know someone who has MS, or if you want to help the 18,000 Ohioans who battle the disease every day, we ask for your help in raising awareness. The following are some things you can do today and/or on each consecutive day during MS Awareness Month to raise visibility and support for the MS movement.

Telling others that March is MS Awareness Month
Making MS Awareness Month part of your e-mail signature
Calling the office about volunteer opportunities
Forming a team for Walk MS or Bike MS
Sponsoring a walker or cyclist for Walk MS or Bike MS
Making a donation online or sending it in by mail
Visiting MSohiobuckeye.org to learn more

We fight MS because this is a battle we can, and should, win. We fight MS right now so that future generations won't have to. We fight MS, and you can, too!

Signed,
Nick Ezzone
Volunteer for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
