An open letter to those who sit for the national anthem: You are disrespectful and misguided.
Yes, there is much to be done in the way of race relations.
Yes, it's true we have problems between police and our citizens in some areas, and both the police and citizens need to share responsibility for these problems.
It's also true is that in sitting for the anthem, you have selected an inappropriate forum to call attention to this issue.
You could have chosen to make a difference by giving your time and money to the NAACP, Black Lives Matter or a host of other organizations that would work for the causes you claim to support.
But instead you chose to dishonor those who fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy in this country.
You have also created divisiveness and disruption in a time when our country needs unity and cohesion.
