Violent America is not America this writer loves
The talk of assassinating President Donald Trump is going way too far. The Kathy Griffin photos of his decapitated head are disturbing, as is the play in N.Y. depicting his murder. Taxpayer funds go the public theatre that produces the play. I thought threats against the president were a felony.
So many others , including entertainers like Johnny Depp, have called for his assassination. The attack on congressmen at a baseball practice is also disturbing. Some people are even stating on social media that they wish Congressman Steve Scalise had died.
Some are mocking Otto Warmbier after his brutal death inflicted by the North Koreans. Otto did not deserve to die for a small infraction, however unwise. North Korea is still holding three of our citizens. I believe in my heart that most Americans on both sides of the aisle do not support this culture of violence, but it is so prevalent in the news, and it is a stain on our nation. This is not the heart and soul of the America I Iove.
