National Park Service closes Peninsula trailhead parking lot

Paving project runs through noon today

Brecksville -- The entrance to Lock 29 Trailhead parking lot along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail in Peninsula will temporarily close from through noon Sept. 18. The National Park Service is coordinating the closure in order to allow a contractor to pave the apron at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad crossing.

Parking is available at the Lock 29 overflow lot and access to the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail will be maintained.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park encompasses 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Managed by the National Park Service, CVNP combines cultural, historical, recreational and natural activities in one setting.
