As the Twinsburg High boys bowling team continues to make strides this season, the Tigers' experienced girls squad is off to fast start.

The Lady Tigers continued its quest for a second Northeast Ohio Conference title by defeating Brunswick Nov. 29 2,078-1,865.

Coach Ron Fruscella was thrilled with the team effort.

Junior Amy Thompson continued her solid game knocking down pins with a team-high 192.

Freshman Kelsea Slaby added a 173 and senior Halle Ponter showed her consistency with games of 180 and 178.

Twinsburg's girls moved to 2-0, prior to the Dec. 4 clash against Stow.

The youthful boys (0-2) are improving. Brunswick won 2,398-2,033.

Lost in the match was a strong effort by Austin Gretta, who made plenty of marks and had a high game of 235.

Also contributing were junior Mic Katrine (199) and Cameron Reed (190). Reed is a freshman.

In the season opener at Roseland Lanes against Hudson, Thompson posted games of 211 and 184.

Senior captain Emily Sheets added a 193. Seniors Jamie Schmidt and Paige Murrock added stability to a strong line-up for the Lady Tigers.

The boys dropped a tight decision as veteran junior Jackie Niedert led with games of 195 and 173. Chaz Slaby added a 176.
