In its quest to win a second straight Northeast Ohio Conference championship, the Twinsburg High girls' bowling team is 8-0 this winter.

According to head coach Ron Fruscella, the Tigers have been led by a deep senior class.

Returning state qualifier Emily Sheets is leading the team along with senior classmate Halle Ponter, who just missed states a year ago. Both are averaging more than 180 pins per game.

In addition, a pair of seniors are also contributing in the likes of Paige Murrock and Jamie Schmitt.

"Our top seniors have led us this season and our top four with all of their experience, has been picking each other up," said Fruscella.

The Lady Tigers, who beat Hudson (1-6) 2164-1145 on Dec. 19 at Sto-Kent Family Entertainment in Stow, are set to face their top challenger Mentor on Jan. 7.

Junior Amy Thompson has been a steady fifth player for the Tigers while sophomore Kahlie Paoletti is coming on as well.

The youthful boys squad has been led by senior Chaz Slaby, junior Jackie Niedert, junior Austin Gretta, junior Mic Katrine, and freshman Cameron Reed.
