Twinsburg boys basketball team holds off Stow-Munroe Falls

The host Twinsburg boys basketball team improved to 10-2 overall and 4-1 in the Northeast Ohio Conference River Division after posting a 42-33 victory over Stow-Munroe Falls Jan. 18.

The game was tied at 29 early in the fourth quarter before the Tigers made a 7-0 run. The Bulldogs (6-7, 1-4) made just 6-of-16 foul shots for the game and had some costly turnovers down the stretch.

The game was close until Twinsburg pulled away. Cooper Rea's long-distance buzzer-beating bomb from several feet beyond the three-point arc gave the Tigers a 23-21 lead at halftime.

Sean Marable led Twinsburg with 16 points and A.J. Edwards had six points, 12 rebounds and six blocked shots. Stow's Matt Beech led all scorers with 19 points. Jacob Williams added eight points for Stow. The Tigers had a 23-19 edge on the glass.
