The Hudson City School District recently named Chris Gentille as the new varsity head coach of the Hudson girls soccer team.
Gentille previously was the head coach at Twinsburg High School where he coached the Lady Tigers to a 16-1-1 season in 2013.
Gentille earned honors as the 2013 State of Ohio Coach of the Year for Division I girls soccer, 2012 and 2013 Greater Cleveland Division I girls Coach of the Year and Northeast Ohio Conference Coach of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
"We are pleased that Gentille has accepted the position of head coach and we are looking forward to continuing the strong tradition and success of our girls soccer program," Hudson athletic director Ray Ebersole said.
"I am very excited to be a part of Hudson girls soccer," Gentille said. "I am looking forward to being a part of the continued success of this special program."
Gentille replaces Marquis Walker, who resigned after one season at Hudson to become the head coach of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford's women's soccer team.
Walker led the Lady Explorers to a 15-2-2 record, the Suburban League National Conference title and a trip to the Kent Division I district title game in 2015.
Gentille and his wife, Danielle, have three children. The family resides in Aurora.
