Twinsburg's boys tennis squad hopes to continue with its good momentum towards tournament play as the Tigers hope to score well down the stretch.
Head coach Michael Porinchak has a solid corps for the team against the rest of the league, which has improved this season.
The Tigers are 3-3 in the National Conference of the Suburban League and 9-3 overall.
Strong doubles play led Twinsburg to a big 4-1 win over Brunswick April 20.
Senior Nick Carcione and junior Darryl Nana teamed to win 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles.
At the second spot, senior Erwin Nana and sophomore Mike Sterling won 6-1, 6-2.
In singles action, sophomore Marco Nesic fell 6-3, 6-1 at first singles. Senior Preston Bell won 6-1, 6-4 at the second spot, and sophomore Zach McIlroy captured his third singles match 7-5, 6-7, 10-4 in a marathon match over Dalton Kotlin.
Twinsburg blanked Nordonia 5-0 in league action April 19.
Nesic won 6-0, 6-0 while Bell was victorious 6-0, 6-2 and Erwin Nana won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.
Carcione and Darryl Nana defeated their foes 6-3, 6-3 while McIlroy and junior Ryan Lecaros won 6-1, 6-1 at the second doubles post.
The Tigers edged Kent Roosevelt 3-2 on April 18 as Nesic and Bell were upended in tough non-league singles play. Nesic fell 6-1, 6-4 and Bell lost 6-0, 6-3.
McIlroy won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles while the doubles teams won easily over the Rough Riders.

Nesic has quickly climbed on the school's career win list and recently reached the top 10.
Patrick Yackmack is tops on the list with 48 victories. Mitch Keith has 47, followed by Saeed Khoncarly (43), Andrew Lilfyandchick (42) and Joe Ziska (38).
In upcoming action, Twinsburg plays at Aurora April 26 and at Shaker Heights April 27 before competing at the Suburban League Tournament April 29 at Medina Highland.
